Polymer Clay is a great source for your artistic output. Lasting
seemingly forever, this product Sculpey Original Polymer Clay 8-pound
White doesn't seem to deteriorate over time so if you accidently leave
it open it's not really going to become unuseable. If it becomes britle
you can always add some mineral oil to get it back to its original
state. AS with all Polymer Clays you bake the final product in an oven
and it comes out rock hard, all ready for you to add a final polish.
Another nice aspect of the Sculpey Polymer Clay is that from 3 or 4 core colours you can mix them to develop other colours. In addition, the Original Sculpey can be mixed with the Sculpey III and the Premo series as well. If you like to paint, acrylic works best and dries fast on the clay. It also turns out well when you want to make a faux porcelain piece. And if you can't form the clay the way you want before you bake it, it can be lightly sanded or shaved to get the shape, contour, or texture you desire. I have also baked and then re-baked to add pieces on to a "finished" form.

for making simple pieces that will not be needed long-term or subjected
to a lot of stress. This is easy clay to work and takes detail without
much effort, but it is not durable and can dry out if not baked. Since
we don't usually want to take the time to bake our pieces, we use Super
Sculpey Polymer Clay - Semi-Transparent Beige-Pink - 1lb. when we need a
more durable medium.
